Staff being deployed to deal with Garda vetting waiting list.

Measures are being put in place to speed up the waiting times
for Garda Vetting applications.

South Tipp Fine Gael Deputy Tom Hayes says that 23 staff have already
been assigned to the unit in Thurles, with a further 31 staff also being
transferred from other departments.

At present, the waiting time for an application is averaging at 12 – 14 weeks.

The extra staff will come on board from mid July.
