The case is the final bid to prevent the HSE from closing St Michaels
psychiatric unit in Clonmel.

The action is being taken by the Save our Acute Hospital Committee,
who claim that the closure would be in breach of 1996 agreement,
which stated that services would not be taken from South Tipp General
or St Michaels.

Yesterday, the court heard evidence from Myra McNamamra
and former Councillor Tom Ambrose, who both signed the agreement.

While proceedings will finish today, a ruling is not due until next friday.
