Semple Stadium may be used as a venue if Irelands bid to
host the 2023 Rugby World Cup is successful.

The matter was discussed at this weeks meeting of North Tipp
County Council, when Councillor Jim Ryan suggested that
they write to the IRFU and offer Semple Stadium as a venue
which can be used as part of their application.

Councillor Ryan said the involvement of Thurles in the Championship,
should Irelands application be succesful, would reap huge economic
benefits for the region.
