Funding has been allocated to repair the castle wall in Ardcroney in
Nenagh.

Stone from the higher portion of the castle has been falling in
recent months, which proved very dangerous,
with a number of stones falling in to the old grave yard.

Fifteen thousand euro has been allocated for repair works.

Work is currently underway and should be completed within the
next couple of weeks.

The stair case at the castle will also be closed off, to prevent
anti social behaviour.

The news has been welcomed by North Tipp Fine Gael Councillor
Ger Darcy.
