A litany of cost over runs have left a number of Local Authorities with
a massive hole in their budget.
The Irish Independant is today reporting that North Tipp is among them,
with the Thurles waste water treatment plant improvements, costing
900 thousand euro more than the estimated 1.7 million.

The report states that cost over runs aswell as failure to collect
outstanding monies are to blame for many Councils being in the red.
It doesn't bode well for many authorities, with local Government
funding expected to be cut again later in the year.
