Parking problems in Thurles could be a thing of the past if an impending
property deal goes through.
That's according to local T.D. Michael Lowry today.
The deal would involve the demolition of one building on Liberty Square
and the purchase of smaller nearby properties from six owners.
If this town centre deal goes through, it could cut down on the number
of car parking spaces currently used in Liberty Square.
Meanwhile
Liberty Square in Thurles is to undergoe a million euro facelift.
The plan has been announced by Thurles Town Council,
with a design consultant team now appointed to head up
the project.
A public meeting will be held to discuss the scheme at the Source
on July 30th from 3 – 8pm.
People are being asked to drop by, with suggestions being welcomed
by local residents and businesses.
