Sinn Fein Cllr. Seamie Morris is taking this action following following an ongoing crisis
in the Accident and Emergency Dept. at the Mid West Regional Hospital
in Limerick this week.

This has resulted in the hospital being closed to new admissions on 2 occasions.

Meanwhile the Limerick Chief Fire Officer was called in to investigate the overcrowding
when up to 38 patients were on trolleys awaiting admission.

Cllr. Morris says the independent body for standards in acute hospitals
has a serious job to do in Limerick.
