Motion to postpone reunification narrowly defeated

13 South Tipperary cllrs. voted down the motion put forward by Cllr. Tom Wood,
with 12 voting for it.

Fine Gael Cllrs were joined by Labour Cllr. Darren Ryan in their opposition to the motion.

Tom Wood was the first member to propose such a merger
between the two local authorities 19 years ago.

However, he  claims that circumstances have changed since then
and the current implementation plan is half-baked:
