Man in court in connection with Clonmel robberies

A man has appeared before a special sitting of Clonmel court, charged in connection with 2 robberies on elderly women
in the town yesterday.

A woman in her 80's is recovering in Waterford Regional, after
she was knocked to the ground and had her handbag taken
on Queen street at about 5.30 last evening.

Shortly after that, a woman in her 60's was also threatened and
robbed of her handbag in Mary street car park.

The man in his 30's was arrested by Gardai last night and
has been remanded in custody.

He is due before the next sitting of the Distrcit court on Tuesday.
