Man arrested following armed robbery in Clonmel

A man has been arrested in Clonmel after an armed robbery
in the town this morning.

The man, in his 20's, entered the Costcutter shop on the Cashel road
in the town at 8.45 this morning.
He was brandishing a knife and threatened a female member of
staff, before making off with a sum of cash.

Gardai arrived  within minutes and apprehended  a man
near the scene.

He is being detained at Clonmel Garda station, while Gardai
are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed anything
to contact them.
