A local Councillor is calling for the full rigours of the law to be brought against fly-tippers.
It’s after an incident in the last month where household rubbish was found dumped by the river in Clonakenny.

The culprits went to a lot of trouble to bring their waste to the isolated spot instead of bringing it to their nearest recycling centre but will now be facing prosecution after names and addresses were found in it.
Cllr Shane Lee says the rubbish also got into the river.
He says criminal activity like this is an insult to the rural local communities where people who won’t take care of their own waste go to dump it.
