In recent years a local group had raised enough funds for 11 defibrillators to be placed at various locations around Cahir.

Seanie Lonergan says their efforts were repaid last night.

“A 17 year old girl went down, the manager of the hotel remembered where the defibrillator was and knew how to use it”.

Mr Lonergan added,”That girl is in hospital now and alive”.
