Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams raised the issue of the closure
of beds at the Hospital of the Assumption, in the Dail
this afternoon.

He was supported by Fianna Fail leader Michail Martin in
his call to reopen the 22 beds at the Thurles facility.

It comes after a petition gathered by Thurles Councillors,

over eight and a half thousand signatures.

That petition was handed in to the Taoiseach yesterday.
