The collision happened at 11:20am on the N52 Kilcormac to Tullamore road just outside Kilcormac, when a car collided with a transport lorry.
Another woman in the car – also in her sixties – and the driver of the lorry weren't injured.

Gardaí in Birr are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
