Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the mutilated body
of a horse in Burncourt last weekend.

The animal was on lands attached to the Burncourt Equestrian Centre near Cahir
which featured in a long-running repossession case last year.

Former owner of the centre Margaret Hanrahan lost her bid to retain ownership
after A.C.C. Bank filed for repossession.

Its understood that Ms Hanrahan is still living in the house on the land and the horse
was one of three grazing in a nearby field last Friday.
