Last week Minister of State Alan Kelly said the unit which will include a coronary care
centre of excellence would open by the end of November.

That is now being denied by  Cllr.  Carroll, who is a member of the HSE Forum West.

He told  Tipp FM today that a recent letter from the Hospital's Manager Ann Doherty
made it quite clear that the unit will not be available until early next year, at best.

Meanwhile, cardiac patients will now be  diverted to Limerick from North Tipp
after the remaining coronary care unit was closed recently.
