The Justice Minister has today said that 3 million euro will
be invested in a new fleet of vehicles for Gardai.
This follows appeals from members of the force as a large
number of vehicles have been retired, having exceeded their
recommended milage and have not been replaced.

The Garda Commissioner will ultimately decide where the new cars go,
but Noel Coonan is appealing for Tipperary to benefit greatly.

Its hoped the cars will be delivered in time for Christmas.
