An appeal has been lodged against a planned extension to a
South Tipperary school.

Grange National School near Clonmel was granted permission
for the works by the County Council last month.

The 186 pupil school had sought permission to construct a new
classroom.

However this conditional planning approval has now been appealed
to An Bord Pleanala by Johnny Casey and Neil Midgley who had
voiced their opposition at the initial planning stage.

A decision is due from the state planning appeals board by mid-February.
