50 new citizens swear fidelity in Tipperary

Justice Minister Alan Shatter spoke of the significance of this event at the formal opening

of the Dept. of Justice and Equality offices.

Fifty candidates from 21 countries became the nation's newest citizens after a careful application

of the citizenship laws by the Minister in each individual case.

This was the 59th such ceremony since the initiative was introduced in June of last year.
