3 Tipperary Nursing homes are among 11 nationally, which
have closed in the last 2 years, following state inspections.

HIQUA has confirmed that since 2010, it has secured closure orders
for six nursing homes while a further five were refused registration
and subsequently closed.

Among those five, were Woodside nursing home in Fethard,
Suirmount in Carrick on Suir and St Annes in Cashel.

HIQUA has defended the closures, saying that each facility
received on average, five inspections before closure,
with one units inspected 10 times.
