36 Tipperary people received compensation awards for workplace injuries last year.

That's according to a report by the Injuries Board.

The Board is an independent statutory body that assesses the amount of compensation
due to a person who has suffered a personal injury.

The average award in Tipperary last year was just under €26,000.

Injuries were mostly caused by slips, trips and falls, defective equipment
and poor lifting and handling of goods.
