James made 26 appearences for the Premier County, making his debut against Limerick in 2007.

The  Drom & Inch clubman won five Munster Senior Hurling medals but lost out on most of the 2010 season due to a serious leg break which occurred in the 2009 county senior hurling final.

All Ireland winner in 2010 Conor O Mahony retired yesterday after playing at the top level for many seasons.

The Newport native told Tipp FM Sport that he had a great career and has no regrets.
