‘More top quality games’ in new hurling championship structure

New hurling championship structures for 2018 would give ‘more top quality games,’ according to a former Tipperary hurling manager.

The proposals would see the provincial championships played in a round-robin style, with points awarded for wins, losses, and draws.

Each team would also be guaranteed at least two home games.

While there would be additional county matches across the summer, the proposals should see the club structure benefit from set inter-county fixtures.

Former Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy says the new structures will also enable people to see their heroes at home.
