The football board met last night to formally approve the Kerry native for the role left vacant by Peter Creedon and his appointment is due to be rubberstamped at tonight's County Board meeting.
Once Liam Kearns takes up the role the focus will shift to his backroom team with speculation that ex Tipp goalkeeper Paul Fitzgerald will be coming on board.

Speaking on Extra Time – Tommy Toomey who was a selector under Creedon said regardless of who is chosen now; he will fully support the new set up.
