Tipperary’s Sharlene Mawdsley has been named in the 14-strong team representing Ireland at next month’s World Athletics Relays event in China.

The Newport sprinter and Rhasidat Adeleke the high profile names in the team after winning gold at the European Championships in Rome last summer in the mixed relay.

The top fourteen teams in the men’s, women’s and mixed events will qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo this September.
