A Tipperary player has been named in the Electric Ireland GAA Higher Education Rising Stars Hurling team of the year.
Tipp senior Gearóid O’Connor has been named at wing forward on the team for his performances in helping the University of Limerick win the Fitzgibbon Cup.
This year’s final was the Moyne/Templetuohy’s man fourth decider, where he scored ten points to collect his third title with a win over DCU.
O’Connor is one of 7 UL players in the team of the year alongside Limerick’s Colin Coughlan and Adam English, Galway’s Darach Fahy, Waterford’s Mark Fitzgerald, Clare’s Patrick Crotty and Cork’s Jack Leahy.
