Tipperary’s Katie Bergin wins UCC sport star award

Tipperary’s Katie Bergin was the standout winner at UCC’s 40th Sports Star Awards, claiming the Athletics Individual Award for 2024/25.

She earned the honour after winning the National Senior Indoor 200m title in a PB of 24.03, ranking her second in Ireland.

A UCC PE and History student, Katie also claimed silver at the Intervarsities just days earlier.

She was the only athletics recipient among 11 awardees celebrated at the River Lee Hotel in Cork.
