The Tipperary senior hurlers maintained their momentum in the National Hurling League last night.
Liam Cahill’s side beat All-Ireland champions Clare in FBD Semple Stadium on a final score line of 0-22 to 1-18.
Clare’s Mark Rodgers started the second half with a goal and the Banner went eight points up before the Premier got back on level terms approaching the 70th minute.
Substitute Darragh Stakelum fired over the winning score 3 minutes into additional time.
Speaking after the game, Tipp manager Liam Cahill says there was a lot to like from his side’s performance:
“The real encouragement of the day was the resilience of our team.”
Tipp now prepare for a league final in two weeks time against Cork after the rebels earned their spot in the decider with a 4-22 to 0-22 win over Galway.
The other game in Division One last night saw Wexford upset Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds on a final score line of 1-19 to 1-12.
