Clare’s Mark Rodgers started the second half with a goal and the Banner went eight points up before the Premier got back on level terms approaching the 70th minute.

Substitute Darragh Stakelum fired over the winning score 3 minutes into additional time.

Speaking after the game, Tipp manager Liam Cahill says there was a lot to like from his side’s performance:

“The real encouragement of the day was the resilience of our team.”

Tipp now prepare for a league final in two weeks time against Cork after the rebels earned their spot in the decider with a 4-22 to 0-22 win over Galway.

The other game in Division One last night saw Wexford upset Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds on a final score line of 1-19 to 1-12.
