Disappointment for Tipperary in the opening game of their Tailteann Cup campaign after they lost 2-10 to Sligo’s 2-15.
Tipp raced into an early lead after opening with a goal but Sligo fought back to take a three-point lead by half time.
Philly Ryan’s side did level the game at 2-09 apiece 10 minutes into the second half but Sligo continued to take their scores.
TippFM sports editor Paul Carroll was at the match for us, he says its a big improvement on last season:
”In fairness (it’s) a really good performance from Tipperary. 1,949 people here (in Tubbercurry). Tipp were beaten by this Sligo team 3-22 to 1-12 last year so 2-15 to 2-10 is the signal of the progress this team young team has made.”
