Tipperary’s recent success underage is no coincidence according to the Tipp GAA CEO.
Murtagh Brennan has been giving details of the structures in place developing players in the Premier county.
The Premier have won two of the last three All-Ireland minor hurling titles whilst also experiencing success at Harty Cup level and various academy age grades.
Speaking to Tipp FM, Murtagh Brennan says the Games Development programme is something to be proud of:
“As we always say here, All-Irelands aren’t won on the day, they are won in the preceding number of years.
“We have a fantastic games development programme here in Tipperary headed up by our Games Development Manager Kevin Hally, we are very proud of it.
“We are very proud of the huge number of volunteers we have involved with our academy squads from U14 upwards.
“We are very proud of the large investment that the county board gives to games development figures totaling close to €200,000 every year but to re-emphasise, it’s all about development.
“While it’s fantastic to win these accolades, these players are developing all the way and our ultimate aim is to get them up to senior.”
