Liam Kearns' side defeated the Banner county 2-7 to 1-7 at a wet and windy Sean Treacy Park, Tipperary Town.

Tipp starated the match positively, scoring first with a goal from Conor Sweeney.

They managed four more points during the remainder of the opening half – two from Philip Austin and one a piece from Peter Acheson and Josh Keane.

Clare also put the ball over the bar four times in the first 35 minutes.

The visitors pulled their way back into the match after the break and a goal from Jamie Malone drew them level with not long left to play.

However, responded in devestating fashion within a minute.

Brian Fox secured victory for the home side by finding the net following some impressive approach play.

Tipp's next outing is against winless Westmeath in Mullingar on Sunday February 28th.
