IT was first blow to Aidan O’Brien on Sunday’s Leopardstown card as the Ballydoyle trainer took the opening two races, including the Group 3 2000 Guineas Trial with Furners Green. Sent off the 4-6 favourite, Furners Green quickened up smartly under Joseph O’Brien to easily get the better of Akeed Wafi by two-and-three-quarter lengths. Earlier on the card, the father and son duo combined to win the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden with Forester, also returned the 4-6 favourite.
