The Tipperary Minor Football team can claim the Daryl Darcy Cup this afternoon.
The Premier welcome Clare to Thurles for their Munster championship phase one final.
The sides met last Monday night in Templetuohy where Tipp staged an incredible late comeback to win the game.
The trophy on offer is named after Darrel Darcy, a Tipp U21 and senior footballer who died in a car accident in 2008 aged 20.
Throw-in today is at 2pm in FBD Semple Stadium and speaking on Friday’s Across The Line, joint Tipp manager Shane Hennessy says a win today would be big for his side:
“It is important.
“Daryl was a footballer from Tipperary and it would be great to regain the trophy.
“We were actually beaten in the Daryl Darcy final for the last two years in 2024 and 2023 and we won it in 2022, I have been involved in those years.
“We’re looking forward to this year, it’s a new year, it’s a new group and it’s the same with every year in minor, it’s a new team every year so this group are firmly focused on getting the win on Monday.”
