The Tipperary senior camogie team are aiming for a first victory in this year’s All-Ireland championship today.
The Premier take on Wexford in Wexford Park at 4pm, in their group stage encounter.
Wexford have suffered narrow defeats to Clare and Limerick so far in the campaign whilst Tipp were beaten by Cork last time out after conceding three goals in the first ten minutes.
The Tipperary U23 camogie team are also in All-Ireland championship action this afternoon.
Bill Mullaney’s side take on Waterford in Portlaw, where throw-in is set for 1.45pm.
The Tipperary senior ladies footballers get their All-Ireland championship campaign underway today.
The Premier are in group 1 alongside Galway and Donegal, with the top two teams heading to the quarter-finals.
Up first for Tipp is a trip to Tuam Stadium to play Connacht champions Galway at 2pm this afternoon.
Speaking on last night’s Across The Line, Tipp manager Ed Burke says they have great belief in their own abilities coming up against last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists:
“We’re going in to this championship knowing that a lot of teams mightn’t see us as a threat to them but we know that on the day that we have a lot of high end players that can really cause any teams trouble.
“It’s not just in our forward line, it’s in our backs and we have one of the best goalkeepers in the thing so we feel that when we can put a performance together, just like we’re hoping we can do against Galway, that we can actually beat any of these teams.
“We feel that if we get that little bit of momentum, just like Meath have done in the past, you just don’t know how far you can go.”
