Thurles Racing abandoned after jockey injured in fall

This afternoon’s (Thursday) card at Thurles had to be abandoned after a jockey was injured.

Michael O’Sullivan was riding Wee Charlie in the second race when he was one of three riders to fall at the final fence

Two other horses were badly hampered and unseated their riders.

O’Sullivan was stabilised by the onsite medical team, and transferred to Cork University Hospital by air ambulance.

Racing was initially deferred before being abandoned around 3.30pm.
