Clonmel’s Dean Gardiner has won his third Elite title to reinforce his name as the country’s top male super-heavyweight.
Five judges awarded him the win with a unanimous decision in the National Stadium in Dublin last night.

Gardiner took on Limerick’s Martin Keenan in a rematch of one of the most controversial fights of 2017.
On that occasion, it was Gardiner who won to claim his place on the Irish team for the European Championships.
