Olympian Sycerika McMahon has announced her retirement.
The 22 year old who medalled at the European short and long course Championships says it was an unexpected and difficult choice, as it is not easy to give up something she has done her whole life.
McMahon says she looks back on her career as a multi national record holder, multi European medallist, Worlds semi finalist and an Olympian with pride. However, she always wanted and felt she was capable of a lot more.
