A full round of fixtures in the top flight takes place on Sunday, with four games down for decision.
St. Michael’s come into the season as reigning champions and start their season off with an away trip to promoted side Cashel Town.
Speaking on Extra-Time, soccer analyst Barry Ryan is looking forward to the new campaign.
“It’s brilliant, the off season flew and once the fixtures went up early the bit of buzz started again.
“We’ve got some really good games in the opening weekend, defending champions St. Michael’s will go to Cashel for the opening game of the season, Cashel after winning the first division.
“There’s always a bit of a derby between Cashel and St. Michael’s as well and it’s never easy in Palmer’s Hill, tight pitch and stuff like that.”
