Shefflin set to call it a day

Ten time All Ireland winner Henry Shefflin is expected to announce his retirement from inter-county hurling today.

The Kilkenny legend has called a press conference for this afternoon where he is expected to address the on-going speculation about his future.

The three-time Hurler of the Year was used as an impact sub last season as he helped the Cats to their 10th All Ireland title under Brian Cody when they beat Tipp in a replay.

Former team-mate, DJ Carey believes that Shefflin wouldn't have been satisfied with another season as a 'super sub'.
