Nenagh Ormond will be plying their trade in Division 1B for the first time ever whilst Cashel and Clonmel both are both preparing for their respective Division 2A and 2C campaigns.

For Cashel, they lost out at the playoff semi-final stages last year.

Club president Pat O’Donoghue says they have recruited some new players to try go the distance this season.

“In the modern game you’re going to need upwards of 35-40 players to get you through the season with injuries and people on holidays and all this kind of stuff.

“The game is gone so competitive and guys are gone so fit, your injury list can mount up really quick and you could be caught off guard if you didn’t have enough in reserve.

“We’re pleased to say we’ve recruited well over the summer and we’ve coverage on 95% of positions around the field.”

Cashel start their season away to Old Crescent at 2.30pm on Saturday.

At the same time, Nenagh Ormond welcome Dublin University to New Ormond Park and Clonmel start their season with an away trip to Omagh Academicals.
