United have sent Rooney to a warm weather training camp along with his family in an attempt to help him recover from a recurring groin injury in time for next week's crucial match-up against Chelsea.
Van Persie hasn't played since last month's Champions Leagueclash with Shaktar Donetsk but manager David Moyes says the Dutch striker will remain out of action for “a little while”.
Meanwhile, Moyes has been charged with misconduct by the FA for comments he made following their League Cup semi-final first Leg defeat to Sunderland.
It's alleged he called into question the integrity of the officials and brought the game into disrepute.
He has until next Wednesday to respond.
