The Loughmore-Castleiney racked up 3-2 of his team's tally and played a huge part in propelling Tipp in next month's All-Ireland semi-finals.

Seamus Callanan also displayed his scoring prowess, registering 1-11.

Tipp's other goal was scored by Michael Breen.

Waterford made the brighter start with Patrick Curran and Austin Gleeson getting points.

However, the Premier fought back and led 1-7 to 0-8 by the break.
