There’s action from Ulster football, Leinster football and Munster hurling in today’s All-Ireland Championship encounters.
First up at 2pm it’s the meeting of Down and Armagh in the Ulster quarter-finals, with a clash against Cavan or Monaghan awaiting the winners in the last four.
Both teams have struggled in the province in recent years, while Down last reaching the final in 2012 and Armagh back in 2008.
Throw-in at Pairc Esler is at 2pm, with the minor game between the sides preceding it at 12pm.
Then at 3pm there are two quarter-final ties in the Leinster football championship.
Meath play their first game of the summer as they take on Louth at Parnell Park in Dublin.
Louth were 5 point winners over Wicklow in the 1st round of the Championship last month.
At the same time Kildare and Laois face off at O’Connor Park in Tullamore.
The winners in both of today’s ties will clash in the semi-finals in three weeks time.
Later in the afternoon attention turns to hurling as rivals Clare and Limerick meet in Thurles with a place in this year’s Munster hurling final at stake.
Both sides had mixed league campaigns, with Clare beating Dublin in a relegation playoff and Limerick reaching the semi-finals, but failing to gain promotion to Division 1A.
