New format means clubs need to hit the ground running

That's according to Tipp FM analyst Tom McGrath, who says the new formats adopted for both codes means that a poor result early on could put paid to a club's chances of making the knock-out stages.

The draws for the 2016 county competitions and most of the divisional ones were made at The Dome, Semple Stadium yesterday evening.
