The result means United have failed to win in four consecutive home games for the first time in League history.

Elsewhere Everton boss Ronald Koeman suffered a disappointing return to old club Southampton.

His side lost 1-0 at St Mary's.

Arsenal are three points from the top of the table after a 3-1 win at home to Bournemouth.

And Stoke were 1-0 winners away to Watford.
