Macklin – who spent much of his youth in Tipperary – was set to face Jorge Sebastien Heiland at the National Stadium in a WBC Middleweight title eliminator.
However the “Tipperary Tornado” says in light of the circumstances and the disruption to his preparation it is the right thing to do.
