United completely out-classed League One Shrewsbury Town by three goals to nil in tonight's fifth round tie at New Meadow to help ease some of the pressure on manager Louis van Gaal.
Goals from Chris Smalling and Juan Mata helped United into a 2-0 lead at half-time before Jesse Lingard added a third strike mid-way through the second-half.

The win means that United will now play host to West Ham in the quarter-finals and the United boss was pleased with how his side had managed to avoid a potential upset.
