Clare's All Ireland winning coach Paul Kinnerk is set to take a break from the countys senior hurling setup and won't be involved for the 2015 season – although he could return for 2016.

It's one of several changes being made to Davy Fitzgerald's backroom team.

Mike Deegan is moving from the role of selector to analyst while physical trainer Joe O'Connor is to maintain an advisory role with the team and Michael Browne is set to come on board as a new selector.

Meanwhile, Fitzgerald says that the Clare team suffered last year as a result of players trying to play both codes.

After the recent revelation that the Collins brothers, Podge and Sean, have committed to the Clare footballers for next season after being told that they would not be allowed to operate as dual players with the hurlers, Fitzgerald says that he felt the hurlers suffered last year as they attempted to accommodate both codes.
