Shane Lowry’s boosted his chances of reaching the season ending Fed-Ex Cup Playoffs on golf’s PGA Tour.
The Offaly man shot a six-under par second-round to move to nine-under at the Wyndham Championship.

Lowry, who requires a top-10 finish this week to make the playoffs, is tied for eighth – four shots behind joint leaders Webb Simpson and Ryan Armour.
Meanwhile, Paul Dunne continues his campaign at the Paul Lawrie Match-Play in Germany today.
The Wicklow man faces Alejandro Canizares in the last-16 this morning.
Dunne eased to a four-and-three victory in his round of 32 tie and he’s enjoying the course in Griesbach.
