The 36.5 kilometre event was run in very wet and slippery conditions.

Josie Knight took 37th place in the junior women’s time trial. She crashed a few kilometres from the finish, losing considerable time.

She ended up one minute 45 seconds behind the winner Macey Stewart of Australia.

Today it's the turn of Carrick on Suir's Michael O'Loughlin who competes in the Junior Individual Time Trial.

The 17 year old double stage winner in the Junior Tour of Ireland will also compete in Saturday’s road race.
